dingo: Not sure why the moderator is blaming us hippos when all these reviews (including this one btw) are being written and posted by the same person (foodhippo webmaster a.k.a. bouffe’s staff writer) who—and this is kind of sad—not only thinks he knows enough about food to write about it (he doesn’t)... he also seems to be labouring under the illusion that in the illustrious tradition of Jonathan Swift and Karl Kraus, he’s writing (I overheard him describe it to bouffe’s maître d’, using these exact words) “shrewd and insightful social commentary”.

endzone88: yah but does anyone believe that he actually believes he’s critiquing society’s flaws (eg. the Enforced Segregation of Restaurant Customers, the Rise of Recipe Piracy, and the Collapse of the Timeworn Tradition of Dinner-Party Reciprocity) in the noble hope of making the world a better place?
Or is he just pissed off because he had to sit in the car outside Tweedsmuir’s while his wife ate pizza inside with her girlfriends? Perhaps it’s time for our ‘Swiftian scribbler’ to put down his parodist’s pen and get back to his pots and pans.

metal_foot: I didn’t mean his mind has already ‘gone vegan’, just that, well, maybe it’s going that way? I happen to know theres a history of dementia in his family, and I once overheard him confess to the bouffe sommelier that he’s afraid it will get him too. He said he wanted to start keeping a record of dinners, kind of a diary (that he adds some ‘humour’ and ‘insights’ to), so he could remember things—family, food, friends. So maybe that’s what this is all about.

spisse_tofu: Anything’s possible I guess, including the possibility that this whole foodhippo website is his harebrained scheme to get more dinner invitations by convincing other restaurant owners that they need more customer reviews so they better invite him over since he’s the one who writes the reviews.

Now... what are some of the other pizza toppings you can choose at Tweedsmuir’s? Do they make it in a wood-burning oven? Fresh or dry mozzarella? And do they cater to vegetarian pizza lovers?

P,L&Understanding: Before you book a table here, please, everyone, think about eating more democratically. Picture yourself at any one of a number of other Westboro restaurants—like Pålegg or The Frosty Mug or even Vive la bouffe!—where males and females are allowed to mix freely together, sharing washrooms, water fountains, appetizers… and even, dare I say it… dinner tables?!? How very… I don’t know… 21st-century???!
